48" Aqualight Pro
01/14/2005Just wanted to let
you know, I got the lighting system in good order. The set-up was about as
easy as you could get, but the instructions to put the brackets on where not
in the box. Being fairly mechanical I figured it out quickly. The
power cords are all very long so there is no problem in running them
anywhere you could imagine. The look is a sleek new design departure for
Coralife and easily as good as those $2,000 dollar systems from Germany.
Once I started it
up it was clear the Power compacts are for photosynthesis only as the light
was a strong blue but not as intense as an actinic 4' VHO is. The next thing
I turned on was the 2 150 watt HQI's and it was obvious in about 3 minutes
that this system is all I am ever going to need to grow most any coral that
likes light. The color balance was as close to perfect as I could have
imagined with no dead spots and the moon light LEDs will enable night
viewing that I used to keep the mains on for. This feature will allow me to
move my light cycle closer to what nature is and not what my work life
dictates, plus they have the same shimmering effect the HQI's give only
dimmer (very cool surprise). All things considered I am completely
thrilled and I have a renewed excitement about the tank's possibilities.
P.S. The tank is a 90. Oh and your price was the best anywhere. Thanks.
